Flagship MaSSH Courses
The primary objective of HSEC is to introduce learners to the fundamental principles of SBE, with the aim of creating awareness of the true concept of healthcare simulation.
HSEC will be delivered as a series of interactive lectures over seven hours (one day). The primary source of reference is the “Healthcare Simulation for Clinician Educators: A Practical Approach” book (see Resources), which will be provided as a complimentary item when you sign up for the course.
The course also comes with a complimentary workbook. Participants are expected to complete the workbook at the end of the course.
The target audience are individuals who are interested to learn about healthcare simulation, both from among MaSSH members and non-members. Group participation, e.g. from among institutional faculty members, can be arranged.

The objectives of HSFDP are to:
- Design a comprehensive faculty development program focused on healthcare simulation education.
- Equip faculty members with pedagogical strategies, technical skills, and assessment methods tailored to simulation-based education.
- Foster a collaborative environment to share best practices and innovate in medical education.
HSFDP is delivered as a series of workshops and interactive sessions that focuses on:
- Principles of simulation-based education;
- Effective teaching strategies with simulation;
- Scenario design and development techniques;
- Facilitation skills during simulation based teaching;
- Conducting a debriefing session; and
- Assessment and evaluation strategies.
The workshop series will cover different aspects of simulation based education (SBE) in healthcare. This entails the organization of simulation-based practical sessions for faculty members via hands-on sessions through which they learn to analyse critical problems, design simulation scenario, execute the created scenarios and evaluate its outcome.
The primary source of reference is the book “Healthcare Simulation for Clinician Educators: A Practical Approach” (see Resources), which will be provided as a complimentary item when you sign up for the course.
To further enhance the SBE skills of the faculty members in this program, we advocate a mentorship approach and communities of practice. This is aimed at encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and ongoing support among faculty members and instructors.
After the initial intensive two-day workshop, three follow-up sessions are conducted to evaluate the application of the program on real-life issues or problems.

This two-day workshop is designed for individuals involved in the operational aspects of healthcare simulation centres. Participants will learn about the logistical, technical, and administrative elements necessary to run a successful simulation program and centre. The workshop covers best practices in simulation centre management, equipment maintenance, scenario setup, and technological support matters such as trouble shooting, improvisation of simulators, moulage and many more.
Workshop delivery is through interactive lectures, group work, and project presentation.
This workshop equips participants with the knowledge and skills to ensure the smooth and effective operation of healthcare simulation centres, enhancing the overall quality of simulation-based training.

This two day workshop focuses on scenario design and development for immersive clinical teaching in enhancing clinical training and patient safety. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of scenario design, including scenario planning, incorporating elements of fidelity, choice of simulators, usage of actors, equipment, and props.
Interactive lectures together with hands-on practice in a group will be carried out throughout the workshop. At the end of the workshop participants will alpha-test their created scenario to see its smoothness and effectiveness.
This workshop promises a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, empowering healthcare professionals to harness the full potential of simulation in their educational and clinical practices.

This course focuses on the critical skill of debriefing in healthcare simulation. Effective debriefing ensures that learners reflect on their simulation experiences, understand their actions, and translate their learning into improved clinical practice. The workshop provides participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to conduct impactful debriefing sessions.
This one-and-a-half day workshop is delivered as interactive lectures interspersed with debriefing demonstrations followed by guided debriefing practices. Participants will be exposed to the DeBRIEF technique of structured debriefing.
This workshop equips healthcare professionals with the skills needed to conduct meaningful debriefing sessions, ultimately improving learning outcomes and patient care.
